Samsung beats Apple in consumer satisfaction – CNET in Spanish

The South Korean company grows in consumer tastes and dethrones – barely – to the Cupertino giant, which has suffered setbacks as ‘Bendgate’

Samsung overtook Apple in terms of consumer satisfaction in 2014, according to research firm American Consumer Satisfaction Index (ACSI). The South Korean company scored 81 points, while Apple was left with 78 points.


ACSI was commissioned to conduct surveys of more than 70,000 US consumers who bought a smartphone in the year.

The difference between Samsung and Apple seems to not be so great, but it is noteworthy that Samsung increased five points of the 76 obtained in 2013, while Apple lost two of his 80 points gave the first last year.

ACSI did not disclose numbers that let see why Samsung overtook Apple, but it may be because many consumers did not convince them the new sizes of the iPhone 6 twins, in addition to the Bendgate, that tormented Apple because the iPhone was supposedly very easy to fold, may have hit the Cupertino giant in consumer taste.


While ACSI shows that Samsung was the triumphant 2014, research firm JD Power released its consumer satisfaction survey, which showed that Apple won first place among consumers of four operators in the US – Sprint, Verizon, AT &. T and T-Mobile – Samsung in lower positions

Also, the market research firm Flurry application revealed that Apple devices accounted for 51.3 percent of all device activations in the week prior to December 25; Second Samsung started off with 17.7 percent of all activations of devices.
