Discover the first frog giving birth – Debate

United States.- A herpetologist at the University of California watched the first frog able to give birth to tadpoles instead of laying eggs.

This is a species discovered on the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia. It was speculated that the animal was able to give birth, but never observed the “birth”.

The frog is just one of 10 or 12 species in which an internal fertilization takes place, as in most frog species the male fertilizes the eggs after the female lays, but this is the only one who gives birth to tadpoles or frogs instead of putting fertilized eggs.

McGuire and Ben Evans of McMaster University in Ontario, Canada, named the species Limnonectes larvaepartus and described in the journal PLoS ONE.
