Can you hack the new operating system of the iPhone? You can win $ 1.5 million dollars – The Voice of Interior

The it security firm Zerodium is offering a sum of truly high of money that he can find a vulnerability functional of the so-called zero-day (that have an access door to install malicious code) in iOS 10.

Obviously, the new Apple operating system for mobile devices has very little chance of being hacked, otherwise you will not be offered such a prize.

Only (or nothing less) you need to send a security flaw that is not documented and that is able to unlock the complex security of the platform present in iPhones and iPads.

there is not even rushing to be the first to do so: Chaouki Bekrar, the founder of Zerodium, ensures that your firm is able to offer the same prize to more than one winner.

it is Not difficult to imagine that the interest of Zerodium is not to solve the life (economically speaking) to a programmer, but to sell security to companies like Apple: hacking, zero-day are unknown even for the firms that make the software, and are extremely hard to find, but it is not technically impossible.

Apple, by your account, has its own rewards program to hackers, but the rewards do not come close to the that gives Zerodium.

The mission of the european probe Rosetta was concluded today. Made history by achieving the first landing of a module (“Philae”) on a comet and today ended his life by crashing voluntarily in him. It was a space adventure decided 23 years ago.

This trip of 7900 million kilometers, strewn with obstacles and surprises, mobilized for more than two decades to 14 european countries and the united States.

The Rosetta probe crashed into the comet and ended his space odyssey 12 years

The Rosetta mission was approved in November 1993 by the European Space Agency (ESA) that seeks to understand the origins of life on Earth by analyzing the dust comment. They decide to do so “in situ” by means of a robot exploration, named Philae.

March 2004: objective 67P

More than 10 years after the start of the project, the Rosetta probe is launched into space aboard an Ariane 5 rocket from the european base of Kuru, in French Guyana. Its target: the comet 67P/Churiumov-Guerasimenko, known as “Churi”, in order to know the origins of the Solar System, and the key to the emergence of life on Earth. Comets contain the most ancient of the Universe.

To speed up your journey, Rosetta used the gravity fields of Earth and Mars. Will perform a true game of “billiards cosmic”, propelling himself forward thanks to the effect of “slingshot” gravitational pull of Earth and Mars. Approaching to the Earth in march 2005, November 2009 and Mars in February 2007.

After rubbing Steins in 2008, and Rosetta flies in July 2010 Lutetia and take more than 400 pictures of the asteroid 100 km in diameter, located between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter.

2011-2014: long hibernation

The solar radiation is insufficient to power the batteries of their equipment. In June of 2011, Rosetta, which is 800 million kilometers from the Sun, is placed in the “artificial coma”, a hibernation of 957 days that will allow you to save energy. Continues his tour with all systems nearly shut down. Only remain switched on the onboard computer and several heaters, which periodically heat up automatically to prevent freezing, moving away from the Sun.

August 2014: meeting with Churi

In January 2014, the probe wakes up and resumes its journey toward the comet. Thanks to its 11 instruments of measurement and observation, begins to scan its surface. On 6 August, Rosetta has traveled a total of more than 6000 million kilometres, is placed in orbit around Churi for escorting him on his journey to the Sun.

November 2014: Philae on the comet

After ten years of travel as a passenger of Rosetta, seven hours of flight and bounce two times, the small module Philae lands in November 2014 in the nucleus of the comet 67P, a milestone in the history of the conquest of space. Equipped with a dozen instruments of scientific observation, the robot manages to work for about 60 hours, before it shut down due to lack of sufficient sunlight to charge its batteries.

June 2015: mission extended

The ESA extends to June 2015 the Rosetta mission for nine months, until the end of September 2016.

Philae wakes up after seven months of hibernation, and communicates several times with Rosetta. The eighth and last contact recorded on the 9 of July, but it is unknown its exact location. Since then, the robot laboratory has remained silent.

Google, Facebook, Amazon, IBM and Microsoft will investigate together about artificial intelligence – iprofesional.com

Google, Facebook, Amazon, IBM and Microsoft created an alliance on artificial intelligence, with the aim of promoting the understanding of this subject matter to the entire population and to provide practice guides to future researchers who would like to join, in the framework of the “enormous potential of machines to supplement and help humans”.

Under the name of “Association on artificial intelligence for the benefit of people and society“, the group will conduct research, recommend best practices and will report under open licenses in areas such as ethics, justice and inclusion, transparency, privacy, and interoperability, as promoted.

will Also look for the collaboration between people and systems of artificial intelligence, as well as the trust, reliability and sturdiness technology.

“We are in the spring of the artificial intelligence and is still commonly believe that it is science fiction. But the artificial intelligence has a huge potential to complement the human in what is referred to vision, speech and machine learning,” he said in dialogue with Telam Marcela Riccillo, phd in computer science (UBA) and a specialist in artificial intelligence and robotics.

The brand-new alliance is formed by some of the leading companies of the sector, although with absences is very significant as Apple and OpenAI.

however, OpenAI -the research team, backed by entrepreneur Elon Musk- is doing its part, seeking to “advance the digital intelligence to the extent that it is a benefit to mankind,” the newspaper said The Guardian.

While Apple still issued no press release about it, despite having a long history in artificial intelligence in areas such as personal assistants, image recognition and voice control.

One of the fundamental points of the new covenant is that in the directory there will be equal representation between the corporations and others that will be adding, such as academic, non-profit organizations and specialists in politics and ethics.

“When the alliance was presented last week also released a report of the University of Stanford about what happened with the artificial intelligence in the past and what will happen to it in the future,” said Riccillo, who is also a professor of “Data Science and Machine Learning” at the ITBA.

The specialist differed, the artificial intelligence -that it exists – in the artificial intelligence complete (or “superintelligence“), which does not exist and it is also not certain that there is in the future.

“it Is very important to understand this difference because the first represents a huge potential to help humans, while the second does not exist because it implies an artificial consciousness, that is to say an artificial being that has a decision”, clarified Riccillo.

The researcher recalled that in 2014, Musk and astrophysicist Stephen Hawking made public to the dangers of the development of an artificial intelligence complete. Which can generate confusion with what is the intelligence aa dry.

“If that artificial consciousness existed, in the framework of the artificial intelligence complete, I would have to teach the machine ethical rules and moral to live among humans,” he said Ricillo.

This concept is different from that of artificial intelligence, which still tends to be understood as “science fiction“, and that it is still not known in depth the actual extents for the benefit of the society.

“that is why it is important to the creation of this alliance that seeks to explain this matter,” said the specialist argentina.

Each of the five corporations of the alliance has research teams in the field, some of them very well known, like Watson IBM -where Riccillo serves – and Alexa in Amazon.

“The artificial intelligence serves to complement to the human, in what refers to the vision, speech and machine learning”, emphasized Ricillo, and clarified that “as everything has its good side and bad.”

he Cited the “typical example of the iron: one can use for ironing or for tirársela to someone. But the decision is made by the human and not the machine itself.”

so, Riccillo also stressed that the alliance will serve to provide useful guides for use of artificial intelligence and to help the world understand their full potential.

After 12 years, Rosetta descends on comet Churi – Milenio.com

In a spectacular finish to its historical mission, the european probe Rosetta crashed voluntarily on the comet Churi, the icy tomb where he will rest after more than 12 years of space odyssey.

WE RECOMMEND: Rosetta starts the descent to come crashing down on the comet Churi

“I can confirm the descent full successful,” said the head of mission Patrick Martin in the control center of the European Space Agency (ESA in English) in Darmstadt, Germany, at the time that it announced the definitive end of the mission.

The probe pioneer was not designed for landing, but the engineers THAT did it all for the “controlled impact” on the comet, after descending for 14 hours from a height of 19 kilometres to 3.2 kilometres per hour, to be as “smooth” as possible.

from the moment of the impact, the Earth had to wait about 40 minutes to be informed, by radio waves, by the probe, which functioned on auto-pilot before turning off power to all your circuits.

“It’s like a euthanasia cosmic, it was unplugged,” said an excited Roger Bonnet, former scientific director of the ESA when the project was launched.

The probe used its last strength to build up the largest possible amount of images and scientific data of this last journey.

The greater part of the instruments of the probe were connected during the last few hours. Their goal was to take pictures very close, “suck” the gases, measure the temperature of Churi and their severity.

This spectacular final put an end to a mission of over 12 years, topped off with close to 26 months of closeness fruitful with the comet 67P/Churiumov-Guerasimenko -nicknamed Churi – in its journey around the Sun.

Journey to eternity

Planned in 1993 by the European Space Agency, the Rosetta mission was aimed at better understanding of our Solar System. The comets, which appeared four thousand 500 million years old, are part of the most primitive of this planetary system.

The mission, which cost a thousand 400 million euros, has allowed to collect as much data that will occupy scientists “for decades”, according to ESA.

The mission was marked by the vicissitudes of the robot-laboratory Philae, which was the first to land on a comet, on 12 November 2014. Inert since the July 2015 sold out completely its batteries, Philae was located at the beginning of September by the probe.

The comet 67P is currently directed towards the orbit of Jupiter. Will continue away from the Sun in its elliptical path, until about 850 million kilometers of distance from our star king.

And with him will depart the remains of Rosetta, with more than seven thousand 900 million kilometres above since its launch in 2004, to escort the comet since August 2014.

Fitted with large solar panels, the probe has been losing power. For that reason, ESA decided to terminate its mission as the controls.

“Now it is like a sleeping beauty,” said Roger Bonnet.

Rosetta had no possibility of contact with the Earth once in the soil because they no longer have the ability to focus on your main antenna, according to Sylvain Lodiot, head of operations at ESA.

The probe came to rest in an area situated in the head of the comet where there are holes, some circular depressions wide and deep, where the escaping jets of gas and dust when the celestial body is approaching the Sun.

The scientists are now waiting for answers on the role that could play the comets in the emergence of life on Earth.

The Rosetta probe is turned off after revealing clues to the origin of life – Clarín.com

Rosetta, the first probe robotics sent to orbit and descend to a comet, ending today his mission. But yesterday, scientists from the European Space Agency (ESA) announced that the probe has already provided much to humanity. Allowed to find evidence that comets, like 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko where Rosetta landed today, brought to Earth organic molecules that are very complex that could have helped generate life on Earth.

The probe robotics had been launched on 2 march 2004, and toured 6.400 million kilometers to reach the comet ten years later. Had the mission from orbit around the comet 67P/Churiumov-Guerasimenko between 2014 and 2015. Since the probe sent a lander, Philae, to the comet’s surface. Today, the ship-which works with solar panels, you will land on the side of a pit of the comet. There, scientists believe they might find even more evidence of the origin of life in the solar system. The time will be able to follow live on the Internet here. The probe will take pictures throughout its descent, up to three per minute, that will portray them as never the area of pits of an active comet.

Yesterday, the ESA presented in its operations control center in Darmstadt, in Germany, that the mission had already detected acetamide, acetone, propanal and methyl, which are molecules that contributed to the creation of life on Earth. As now it is 600 million kilometers from the Sun, will no longer receive the solar energy enough to keep in operation. That’s why, will be his end.

however, for scientists the work will not end. “It is the time in which we are going to analyse a lot of data, probably for ten more years, much work remains”, said the agency Efe Gerhard Schwehm, who was director of the Rosetta mission between 2004 and 2013, and project scientist for twenty years. One of the questions of this ESA was to discover the importance of comets in the formation of the Solar System.

See also: Rosetta and Philae: a picture of a farewell from space

Since the 9th of last August, Rosetta comes to plotting elliptical orbits ever closer to the comet , and during the last flight, could be within 1 km of the surface, a distance never before achieved. The manoeuvre of collision was held today, when Rosetta is at an altitude of 19 kilometers from the comet. Will be a slow free-fall towards the comet in order to maximize the number of scientific measurements that can be taken and send to the Earth before the impact.

See also: The Rosetta probe cuts off the communication with the robot spacecraft Philae

To the researchers, was a surprise to find on the comet 67P oxygen in a state of very pure, usually is not so because it is an element very reactive and can be mixed easily with other elements. This means that the oxygen was on the comet at the beginning of the Solar System, makes 4,600 million years. the Another source of amazement was the discovery that the comet’s nucleus has no magnetic field. If 67P is representative of the nuclei of comets, it is unlikely that the magnetic forces have played a role in the accumulation of rocky bodies more than a meter, which participated in the formation of the planets, deduced scientists. These results could force them to review a theory key about the formation of comets and other bodies in the solar system.

The comet is very porous and has a very low density, of about 0.5 grams per cubic centimeter, so that would float in the water like a cork, according to Schwehm. At the close of the mission will turn off all the systems on board Rosetta and stop bands of frequency that has been used for that can be used for other missions without interference, he explained.

The scientists of the ESA is very pleased with the results of the mission, that has shown that are on the first line along with the u.s. space agency NASA in the research world, said Schwehm. In its long journey through the Solar System, Rosetta received the impulse of gravity of the Earth and Mars because there is a rocket launcher capable of sending the probe directly to the comet.

Watch the trailer for launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered – LEVELUP

Although there is a little more than 1 month for its debut, Activision decided it was time to release the trailer launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. As you know, the long-awaited remastering of the FPS of the last generation of consoles will be available on some editions of the new installment of the franchise: Infinite Warfare.

As we have already seen much of the multiplayer of Modern Warfare Remastered in a Call of Duty XP, Activision decided that it was best to take this occasion to show a bit of your campaign. So, in this advance release, you’ll see some moments of the missions most memorable to many of us live in the shooter of 2007.

What is clear with this video is that ―at least in the graphic― Raven Software has done a good job with this remastering. For you see, not I will tell you more and I’ll leave you with this forward:

In Modern Warfare Remastered not only will you play once more the campaign of the shooter game from Infinity Ward, but you can also enjoy its multiplayer mode. In its first day of release, the game will feature 10 maps, but in December, the owners of the FPS will receive 6 more.

For the moment, Activision has no plans to sell Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered separately. So, as I already mentioned, the only way to achieve that is through some special editions of Infinite Warfare.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will arrive on November 4 to Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC. Click here to see more information related to this title.

Rosetta starts the descent to come crashing down on the comet Churi – Milenio.com

The Rosetta probe launched the night this Thursday its slow descent towards the comet Churi, where it will crash voluntarily this Friday at noon.

A tweet from the European Space Agency confirmed that the probe was placed at the time specified on a trajectory that will lead to a collision with Churi.

The shock spectacular will put an end to a space odyssey more than twelve years, topped off with close to 26 months of closeness fruitful with the comet 67P/Churiumov-Guerasimenko in its journey around the Sun.

The probe will use his last strength to try to accumulate the largest possible amount of scientific data during these last few hours.

“we’re very excited,” said Matt Taylor, head scientist of the Rosetta mission, questioned in the European Centre of Special Operations (ESOC), in Darmstadt (Germany).

“During the final descent, we’re going to find in a region which is never collected samples,” he added.

The greater part of the instruments of the probe will be connected during the last few hours. Rosetta will take pictures very close, “suck” the gases, measure the temperature of Churi and their severity.

adopted in 1993 by the European Space Agency (ESA), the Rosetta mission aims to better understand the solar system. The comets appeared about 4 thousand 500 million years old, are part of the most primitive of this system.

The mission, which has cost a thousand 400 million euros, has allowed us to gather a harvest of data that will occupy several years to scientists.

And with him will walk away Rosetta, with more than 7 billion kilometres above since its launch in 2004, to escort the comet since August 2014.

Fitted with large solar panels, the probe has begun to lose power. For that reason, ESA decided to terminate its mission as the controls.

- “Wells” deep -

The drama goes through more than 720 million kilometers from the Earth.

on Thursday night, at 20:50 GMT when the probe is located 19 km from Churi, Rosetta fired the thrusters for three minutes to be placed on a trajectory that directly leads to the collision with the comet.

The confirmation was received on Earth at the end of 40 minutes. The descent of the probe should last 14 hours.

In the final part, your speed should reach 90 centimeters per second (3.2 km/h), “that is to say the speed of a walking human,” pointed out Sylvain Lodiot, responsible for operations in flight on Rosetta at ESOC.

Rosetta is not designed to land but the engineers have done everything possible to ensure that the “controlled impact” of the probe on the comet, at 10:40 GMT this Friday, be as less rude as possible.

The Earth will have to wait 40 minutes to be informed, towards 11:20 GMT, with a margin of variation of approximately 20 minutes.

The probe was scheduled to shut down in terms of contact with the surface of the comet’s nucleus.

Rosetta should it land in an area situated in the head of the comet, which involves “holes”, a few circular depressions wide and deep, from which escape is sometimes jets of gas and dust.

“we Hope to be able to observe structures in the walls of the holes (we) can be traced to the time of formation of the comet and would give us indications on the evolution of primordial solar system,” said Jean-Pierre Bibring, scientific officer of the programme Philae.

The Rosetta probe, which after more than 10 years of space travel achieved in August of 2014 be placed in the orbit of the comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, will be completed this Friday its historic mission of poking around on the origins of life with a controlled descent onto the surface of the star, where it will turn off forever, in a move that will be broadcast live on the Internet.

“Is currently in orbit and what they are going to do (the scientists of the European Space Agency, ESA) is a descent on the surface. As you descend, it will transmit to Earth the data you will be collecting,” he said in dialogue with Telam, the astronomer, an expert on probes, César Bertucci, and pointed out that “the closer the comet, are going to be taking information more difficult to obtain”.

“It’s the same thing that we’re going to do with (the probe NASA) Cassini on 15 September 2017 against Saturn”, said the scientist working on that project of NASA, and said that “in this maneuver maximizás the information that you can get.”

The preparations for the descent-or “maneuver collision”, as described in the ESA – will begin this evening when the ship, which is at a distance of 19 kilometers from the surface, is placed in the indicated position to start their descent tomorrow, during a window of 20 minutes at around 7.40 Argentina.

One of the difficulties of this stage is that “the comet spins fast enough,” said Bertucci.

Rosetta is fired with a forced landing on the comet, which investigated 12 years

At 5 (8 GMT), the ship “will receive the last commands to refine your direction from the camera images of navigation, taken shortly after the maneuver of a collision,” said the ESA in a press release, adding that “at that time we will know the exact time of the impact of Rosetta”, which although scheduled for 7.40, the hours can vary because “the hours are subject to change due to circumstances beyond our control”.

All this maneuver -whose schedules are accurate will be reported on Twitter by the account @ESA_Rosetta and will be transmitted through the site https://livestream.com/ESA/rosettagrandfinale “live” from 7.30 am, taking into account that the signal takes around 40 minutes to travel the distance between the comet and the Earth.

To speed of passage of a man (80 inches per second), the probe will descend to the surface of the astro while it sends the last data and imagery, which are expected to be the most accurate ever taken.

Is that unlike the module Philae, which traveled with the probe and the November 12, 2014 and it remained on the surface of the 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, Rosetta has instruments more accurate,” said Bertucci, who recalled that the module was able to transmit very little because of the bounce in the descent was in a region that is very dark, no solar energy to the panels.”

Prior to this mission, the probe that close had been that of a comet had been the “Giotto”, which was launched in 1986, which rose to nearly 600 kilometres from Halley and “took a picture of the nucleus, but was picked up by a beating from impact of particles that hit the ship. A couple of instruments were very damaged,” recalled the astronomer, argentine.

According to informed scientists THAT it was impossible to leave the probe orbiting the comet -rather than making her collide against the surface – the interference that could happen in the band of frequencies that share the space missions.

that’s why, once the ship touches the surface of the comet, their systems will be shut off forever.

there will be finish a trip of more than 6,400 million kilometers started with the launch on 2 march 2004, a period during which Rosetta traveled for almost 10 years in hibernation mode until it was reactivated on 20 January 2014.

Thanks to the pack “of instruments dedicated to studying the chemical composition of the comet, its magnetic field or the plasma that surrounds it” is “trying to see if some components of the Earth, such as water or oxygen, could have emerged on Earth from impacts of comets,” said Bertucci.

In THAT “they are pretty sure that the water that was in the comet data when the same is created: it is thought that’s been stored there since the birth of the solar system,” assessed the astronomer on the studies that continue to be made thanks to the data provided by the mission.

in Addition, “you could study a lot about how the environment of the comet will change as it nears the sun. On that it is managed to know a lot. We were able to see processes are generated as the comet neared the sun and as it became to roll back when he walked away. And it was the first time that he was able to see that in real time”, he added.

Spotify wants to be the giant of the ‘streaming’ with a possible purchase of SoundCloud – CNET in Spanish

Spotify would be in talks to buy the service music by streaming SoundCloud, according to a report from The Financial Times.

The purchase of SoundCloud could use Spotify to strengthen its service portfolio in against of Apple Music, the music service for streaming Apple, which already has 17 million subscribers in a little over a year of availability.

The Financial Times says that the announcement of the acquisition would be done very soon, suggesting that the talks have been developed from a while ago. Not to mentioned the figure of purchase, but Bloomberg said in July that the German would be looking for a buyer for about US$ 1,000 million.

a year and a half Ago, SoundCloud launched its music service for streaming SoundCloud Go, but has not been able to capture the attention of the users. The service of pay for, while not being able to win more than a few thousands of users, the free version and radio had 175 million active monthly users, according to figures published by SoundCloud in 2014.

Spotify would be interested in buying SoundCloud because of its user base and, above all, its music catalog. The service has over 125 million songs and many are mixes exclusive to musicians recognized that the upload to SoundCloud as demos; but the service, based in Berlin, also has music from artists low profile.

In comparison, Apple Music and Spotify have a catalogue of over 30 million songs each.

The purchase of SoundCloud would also be peculiar, but Spotify is still operating with red numbers, something that the european company has not been reversed. Since its foundation, the company dedicates the majority of its revenue to pay royalties to artists.

on the other hand, Spotify continues to grow its user base, which by mid-September reached the 40 million users of paid and slightly more than 70 million using the free version.

Discoveries from Rosetta amazed the scientists – Periodic Socket

[Science]

29/09/2016 – 01:01 PM

Darmstadt.- The Rosetta mission allowed us to advance significantly in the knowledge of comets, especially the role that these small celestial bodies of the Solar System were able to play in the emergence of life on Earth.

Formed about 4 thousand 500 million years, comets are part of the most primitive in the Solar System.

A strange

The engineers of the mission had been prepared to do to land the robot Philae on the nucleus of a comet with the shape of a rugby ball. However, a few months after the operation, they realized that it sounded more like a “duck bath” with a small head, large body and neck cracked.

The question that emerged was if the kite was separating into two parts or if they were two pieces of a comet stuck.

“The analysis suggests, rather, on the second hypothesis”, explains the astrophysicist Francis Rocard, in charge of the Rosetta space Center CNES of France. The shock must have occurred at very low speed, because otherwise the comet would have exploded”. Very porous, the comet is a frail body.

This suggests that comets were formed “in a relatively less violent than was previously thought,” says Rocard.

Water different

Another great surprise: the scientists discovered that the signature atomic molecules of water caught in the fumes of comet 67P were very different to those of the Earth.

therefore, the water of our oceans is not from the family of comets of Jupiter, to which belongs the comet 67P Churiumov-Guerasimenko.

Given that the Earth lost its water prime, after having suffered impacts giants, among them the Moon, the Earth received water from the second generation”, states Francis Rocard.

Before Rosetta, the astronomers felt that such water could be a result of the bombardment of Earth by comets rich in water, or asteroids, numerous but less rich in water.

After the new observations, “things are complicated”, he warns.

Glycine in the comet

In exchange, Rosetta discovered that the comet contains glycine, an amino acid smaller, an essential ingredient for the emergence of life on Earth. Amino acids are the molecules that form proteins.

This discovery is a result “very important”, because it is the first time that is found accurate glycine in the atmosphere of a comet, highlights Rocard.

The comets, which are the celestial bodies rich in carbon, are bombarded with this element to the Earth, and probably seeded the oceans with these amino acids, adds the expert.

molecular Oxygen unforeseen

Rosetta found molecular oxygen (O2) in abundant quantity in the atmosphere of the comet, a “surprise” to scientists.

this Is the first time that is molecular oxygen in a comet.

The scientists think that they will have to modify their current models on the formation of the solar system, since we currently do not anticipate the presence of low oxygen that forms in a comet.

No magnetic field

Another source of amazement: the nucleus of the comet lacks a magnetic field.

If 67P is representative of the nuclei of comets, it is unlikely that the magnetic forces have played a role in the accumulation of rocky bodies more than a meter, which participated in the formation of the planets, emphasize the scientists.

These results could force them to review a theory key about the formation of comets and other bodies in the solar system.

Work ahead

The data collected by Rosetta will work scientists for several years.

“at The beginning, I had said, using a metaphor, that Rosetta would be the key that would open the treasure chest that holds the secrets of the Solar System,” stresses Mark McCaughrean, head scientist of the ESA.

“We have found the key, but is there torn to pieces. We’re going to have to fix it before you can open the chest”, apostille.

Twitter buys 11% of SoundCloud, according to a Swedish newspaper – Expansion MX

SoundCloud would be on the verge of being acquired by Spotify, told the Financial Times

SWEDEN (AFP) –

Twitter bought 11% of the online music service SoundCloud, which would be on the verge of being acquired by Spotify, indicated this Thursday, the Swedish newspaper Dagens Industri and the british Financial Times.

SoundCloud, founded by a swede in 2008 and based in Berlin, has 175 million users, although it is not yet profitable.

we Recommend: How Twitter can help you to Disney? Investors have doubts

According to Dagens Industri, who agreed to financial documents in the Uk about the transaction, Twitter paid $ 70 million to buy the 11% of the company.

For its part, the Financial Times argues that Spotify, the world leader in the music on ‘streaming’, is in “advanced negotiations” to buy its competitor.

Read: Twitter will have less advertising in 2017

In march, SoundCloud launched a bid to listen to music for 9.99 dollars per month in the united States and 9.99 euros in Europe.

The new offer comes at a very competitive market in which in addition to Spotify are also americans Apple Music, Pandora, Tidal, and Napster, and the French Deezer.

Spotify, which in September exceeded 40 million paying subscribers and, this Thursday, announced his arrival to Japan, has not had any annual profits since its inception.

In 2014, the latest data available, with a turnover of 17 million euros and had losses of 39 million.

Ago 15 hours and 59 minutosSpotify is located in “conversations advanced” for… – Economíahoy.mx

Jose Luis de Haro (New York) – 8:27 – 29/09/2016
  • Spotify had in June last year with a price of around 8,500 million of dollars

The giant of music streaming, Spotify, it is in “conversations advanced” to take your opponent’s SoundCloud, as you are claiming the Financial Times. This last platform, in which Twitter made an investment of $ 70 million, is known for catapulting artists unknown to fame, and by the strong support of the community that make up their users.

SoundCloud has had over the past few months with a market value of around $ 700 million. At least this is the figure that was when Twitter invested in the social platform of audio. According to The Wall Street Journal, Spotify had in June last year with a price of around 8,500 million of dollars.

The company, which has more than 40 million paid users and more than 100 million active users could also be preparing its ipo for the first half of 2017, according to some media. However, Spotify is not yet profitable, and last year lost us $ 194 million.

SoundCloud, based in Berlin, with the devotion of artists and subscribers but has not managed to put its accounts in order. According to the website Music Business Worldwide, the platform lost 44.19 million dollars in 2014 with a revenue of 19.37 million dollars.

last march, the company launched SoundCloud Go, a premium service to compete directly with Spotify and the Apple Music. With a price of 9.99 dollars a month, the offer is similar to its competitors even though some of its users consider that your interface is hard to use. The latest estimates suggest that SoundCloud has 175 million users but it is unknown how many of them use the payment service.

The purchase of SoundCloud on the part of Spotify makes sense as part of the consolidation that it is facing a competitive and somewhat saturated. Companies like Pandora, iHeartMedia and Amazon also plan to launch their payment services of music for streaming and on-demand.

A situation that promises to tighten even more the war between Spotify and Apple Music, which up to now has a total of 17 million subscribers. Tidal, the streaming service created by Jay-Z, has not become a major gap and in fact it is arrived to protest that Apple could be interested in acquiring the company, a news that Cupertino has denied.

Because of the money that these services have to pay to the music labels to be able to offer the music of the artists that they represent, it is difficult for companies like Spotify to get to generate profits. According to some experts, the purchase of SoundCloud could help in any way as, in addition to add subscribers, Spotify would have access to a good number of artists and bands emerging without the need of dealing with intermediaries.

Blackberry says goodbye to the manufacture of cellular – La Gaceta Tucumán

The canadian company was one of the leaders in the market of smart phones. It will focus on the development of software and services.

The smartphone market loses one of its manufacturers, the most emblematic: Blackberry. The canadian company announced today that it is abandoning the development of mobile phones.

things did not went well in the last few years for the devices of Blackberry, which at one time were a trend and marked a change to the time of working with mobile telephony.

In the last quarter of the fiscal year of 2016, Blackberry earned a loss of$ 371 million, so the company decided to abandon the development of their own smartphones and outsource their production to other companies.

The company will license the brand to asian manufacturers, to focus on the development of software and services, noted Expansión.com.

BlackBerry reported that in the three months that ended ended the 31 of August, had a revenue of$ 334 million, below forecast by experts, and well below the$ 490 million it had in the same period of the previous year.

After the launch of the latest model of the brand, BlackBerry DTEK50, rumors began to point out the great resemblance which there was between the terminal with the phones Idol, Alcatel. In particular, the DTEK50 it was the Idol 4 but with a different logo. The possibility of an agreement between BlackBerry and Alcatel for the signature property of TCL to begin to deal with the manufacture of the canadian began at this time to be treated as a reality. Everything pointed to that Blackberry is handing the phones to focus on the networks.

in Addition, at the beginning of July of this year, the company announced that the Classic model, the most characteristic of the firm, would occur after twenty years. Finally,

Blackberry confirmed today that it already has signed agreements with, and the first will be with the company in indonesia, PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk for the creation of the joint venture PT BB Merah Putih, which will produce mobile and software for Indonesia.

The decision of BlackBerry assumed the point and end to an era. The canadian company was one of the leaders in the market of smart phones. At the beginning of this decade, millions of executives are hooked to the BlackBerry. The terminals of the canadian firm came into the business thanks to its service of e-mail in real-time, the company came to be worth U$ S 80,000 million on the Stock exchange, twenty times more than at present.

It’s official: BlackBerry is not going to manufacture its new phones – CNET in Spanish

neonangle1onwhiterev.jpg

The BlackBerry DTEK 50, which was built by Alcatel, was the last phone released by BlackBerry.

BlackBerry

it Is the last nail in the coffin of the BlackBerry phones.

The beleaguered canadian company said Wednesday that it will close its cellular business after the failure of his last attempt to use Google Android software to stimulate interest in their phones. Instead, the company is going to depend on others to design, manufacture and sell devices, thus saving on capital.

“The company plans to put an end to all the development of internal hardware and outsource that function to the partners,” said CEO John Chen in a statement.

Until now, BlackBerry has given the name of one of those partners: BB Merah Putih, Indonesia.

The decision of BlackBerry closes a significant chapter for one of the franchises with more history in the phone industry. BlackBerry was one of the companies more popular in the early days of mobile phones. Legions of addicted to your operating system (known as CrackBerrys) worshipped use your physical keys in the decade of 2000.

like many other companies, BlackBerry failed to anticipate the popularity of the iPhone and phones that use Google Android software, something that struck severely to BlackBerry in the last few years. Consumers have paid little attention to their phones despite the attempts of the company by revamping the BlackBerry software, and, in a last effort of the past year, by embracing Android.

Has been on a constant decline. In 2009, BlackBerry controlled a fifth of the phone market, just behind Nokia. Today, it has only a market share of 1 percent.

BlackBerry reported fiscal results for the second quarter on Wednesday which saw it swing to a loss of US$ 372 million, or 71 cents per share, compared to a gain of$ 51 million, or 24 cents per share in the previous year. Revenues fell by a third to US$ 334 million.

analysts, on average, predicted a loss of 5 cents per share and revenue of US$ 394 million.

Comes finally the transformation

In 2013, the executive chairman, John Chen came to BlackBerry with the mission to transform the company, focusing more on software and services. At the same time, I had to keep one foot in the business of telephony, which still generates a significant part of the income of the company. Even in the last quarter, it accounted for 30 percent of the income of the company.

But Chen had always had their doubts about the business of telephony. He has said on several occasions that it would withdraw from the phones if your business is unable to generate profits, something that many took as a warning. Also never felt entirely comfortable as a promoter of new devices. In July, didn’t even bother to appear at the opening of the DTEK50, phone BlackBerry powered by the Android software.

blackberrymwc2015-03.jpg

The chief executive of BlackBerry, John Chen, during a presentation at the MWC last year.

Sarah Tew/CNET

The DTEK50 was a sign of things to come. The phone was built by Alcatel OneTouch and is virtually identical to the Alcatel Idol 4. Chen had already signed agreements to outsource much of the manufacturing with other partners, including Foxconn to manufacture some of their phones. Until now, however, the company has maintained internal resources significant dedicated hardware.

Even the latest move by BlackBerry, the adoption of the Android operating system, was the brainchild of veteran executive Ron Louks, who thought that greater access to Android applications, combined with its reputation for safety, could awaken the interest among the business world. But it was not so.

The first phone of BlackBerry with Android, BlackBerry, Priv, was a high-end device that came and went without causing much of a stir last fall.

Louks was in may of BlackBerry, and Ralph Pini was appointed as his successor.

they Are recognized to Chen for keeping BlackBerry alive and kicking after his predecessor, Thorsten Heins, almost killed the company with his idea of launching a line of cell phones more attractive to the mass market in general that were running the operating system BlackBerry 10.

Heins believed that the BlackBerry Z10 could compete against the iPhone and phones Galaxy S. instead, the failure of the Z10 and the successor models stimulated many predictions of its imminent demise.

Chen believes that BlackBerry will live, but with an exclusive focus on the software.

“we’re coming to a turning point in our strategy,” said Chen. “Our financial base is strong, and our pivot to the software is consolidating”.
