WhatsApp for fraud alert with Christmas emojis – Digital Lopez Dóriga

Through a statement, the Confederation of Consumers and Users (CECU) of Spain issued a warning about a possible scam on the instant messaging service WhatsApp.

This would be that, when you access a link that offers a package of Christmas emojis, the user is prompted to enter your phone number and, without knowing it, they actually do is register for a courier Premium, which involves paying a certain amount of money for the messages received by the user, causing “a significant increase in the bill” call.

CECU recommends that if you are a victim of this scam, you should go to the telephone company and request blocking such services
