Facebook says it does not discriminate against conservatives – Newscasts Televisa

NEW YORK, May 14, 2016-The CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, said he wants invite “prominent conservatives and people from across the political spectrum” to discuss recent versions of your space “Trends” encourages prejudices against conservatives.

the company on Thursday unveiled details of the operation of that space after the technology blog Gizmodo reported that Facebook rejects the conservative news items. Facebook denied the version, which was based on a single anonymous source who claimed to have conservative orientation.

Zuckerberg said the company investigates versions and so far has found no evidence supporting the request. “If you find something that contradicts our principles have my word that we will take additional measures to deal with,” he wrote.

In another passage, the company said a series of checks which involve both formulas as human interventions – ensure that the items included in “Trends” do not show prejudice. The passage showed a link to an internal document of 28 pages that Facebook uses to determine the issues trendsetters, after the Guardian published a similar document that someone leaked.

Justin Osofsky, vice president of global operations, said the rules ensure that the items represent “the most important popular stories, regardless of where they fall on the ideological spectrum.”

“the rules do not allow reviewers to add or eliminate political perspectives,” he said in a statement.

Zuckerberg said Facebook is to “give a voice to all,” adding he plans to talk with prominent conservatives in the coming weeks. “I want to have a direct conversation about the principles of Facebook and how we can ensure that our platform is kept as open as possible,” he said.

Facebook did not say how many people are responsible for the issue of trends. A publication on Thursday Guardian said it was a team of twelve people. Facebook did not comment on the matter
