Apple Music reaches 6.5 million users – El Universal

The new streaming music service Apple has added more than 6.5 million paying users, CEO of tech giant, Tim Cook said on Monday.

During his participation in a conference on Technology organized by the Wall Street Journal in California, Cook said that 8.5 million people are enjoying a free trial of the service, which totals more than 15 million users in total, which Cook described as a successful debut.

“I am very happy about it, and I think the platform here is really good,” Cook said.

Apple Music, released in June, is the attempt by the company to bring its dominance digital music through its iTunes store to the era of streaming, which are pioneers Spotify and others.

Apple is allowing users to try their service for free for 90 days.

Analysts have predicted that Apple’s service will have many followers due to the high achieved base from usurious iTunes, but few think that the iPhone maker achieved outshine other enterprises streaming music.

Spotify, the industry leader, has more than 20 million paying subscribers worldwide, according to the company told Reuters.
