Facebook: the search – Milenio.com

Search is the most common action that makes any internet user. Search for news, a word or an address. Looking, looking and looking. At Google, on Twitter, on Yahoo, everywhere but where it was harder to find information which users themselves generan- was Facebook

Since yesterday the social network with the largest membership in the world it opened its platform for users to find what others are saying on any subject, in real time.

Before this, you do a search on Facebook was limited to find some hashtags in conversations of friends, friends of friends, people close, but not allowed to have a more complete picture of an item and its reaction to this network.

The change introduced by the company yesterday Mark Zuckerberg lets see posts that have been marked as public by the facebookers and gain access to information that was previously almost impossible to know, as the number of mentions or posts that are being generated on a general theme or who is talking about it.

This may change the digital landscape of Facebook altogether, because until now viral news made on Twitter, where relevant characters react and it is easier to find those answers through the open platform of the messages, but Facebook, say, it was enredoso know who, how and when they talked about certain things.

This new feature, which for now is only available if you change the language preference in your profile English EU- allows not only access to a search for specific posts on a topic, person or place, but a more complete range of items such as pictures, videos, and even a dedicated page Timeline -at Twitter-style with the most recent comments, which certainly puts Facebook in direct competition with the social network of 140 characters in the race to be the forum to generate more real-time conversations and comments from other users who may not pertecen your circle of friends are discovered, but can start viralización an issue.

The change creates a database, which only Facebook could access and that no search engine can offer, allow you to find information, videos or pictures, often only known or viral depending they became someone in your friends will post or shared. Now you can monitor Twitter, Instagram or other networks that are rising in real time on some event.

Facebook knows it is not enough social network to find out what your friends and family think on a theme. The millennials are consuming news and to spend more time there should discover things outside the first circle of cyber friends; this is a great opportunity to be the biggest search information and news there. We’ll see if they succeed and hopefully very soon open to all users, because this could be the new era of the first great social network.
