Danger: 7 million accounts hacked in Dropbox – Ideal Digital

Attention because they come new problems for Dropbox. If yesterday we reported last issue that had your Dropbox storage service in the cloud, and yet another. As they say in my country “when a whistle is not a flute.” The road improves safety but Dropbox service is not very flattering at all.

In addition to filtering million passwords and email accounts earlier this week the company also announced a failure Dropbox that erased some files to users around the globe. The bad news does not stop here

Warning: the popular Dropbox file storage company in the cloud or cloud has suffered a massive leak of email accounts and passwords. Users fear that the figure of 7 million people affected by this leak that would spread around the world is achieved. Dropbox is denying that there has been a direct attack on their servers and has stated that the responsibility must be sought elsewhere.

Apparently accounts correspond to approximately seven million different emails which, today, are considered highly vulnerable.

The Most

At first, it appeared to hack the Dropbox platform as the source of the problem but the company store and forward file has ruled out this option quickly.

According to Dropbox, the company has not suffered any attack, so that theft is theft correspone a third in others outside the organization computing portals.

Some reports suggest that all emails published with their passwords, correspond to accounts beginning with the letter ‘B’.

The company Dropbox also wanted to clarify that the vast majority of stolen accounts had expired, but have begun to take measures to prevent possible leaks.

The main measure is the resetting of the passwords for those addresses that are considered compromised and can be usurped.

Similarly, the passwords for those accounts that are still valid for the service will be reset, and instructions to be sent affected what do if your account is on that list.
