New technologies: guilty of the digital amnesia – CCM

Who memorizes phone numbers in the era of the smartphone ? How many remembers historical or data about your favorite artists? And, why be alert to congratulate a birthday if an alarm can tell us? And few are those who use their memory to such everyday actions like these. However, this easy access to a digital memory as mobile or Internet leads to dependence consequences for our brain already known as “digital amnesia” or “Google effect”.
 

According to a report developed by Kaspersky Lab and ABC echoes that 44% of Spaniards can not remember the phone number of his children , a percentage that is rises to 51% for phone workplace. These data call more attention if you consider that they are capable of recalling significant events that occurred over ten years ago, just before the Internet explosion.
 

In the case of youth dependency is even clearer: 43% of respondents aged between 16 and 24 years say their phone has “almost everything” they need to know . All this, not to mention cases declared to addiction so common shares as selfies.
 

According to experts, this is a paradigm shift that has changed the way our brain stores the data, but nevertheless, we have not progressed in the way we relate with all the wealth of information We found in the network.
