Russian cosmonaut Gennady Padalka returned to Earth with a new record by becoming the human being who has spent more time in space.
The last mission Padalka lasted 168 days , which led him to accumulate A total of 879 days in space for five missions which he has participated.
With this figure exceeded by two months the record set in 2005 by fellow Russian Sergei Krikalev that participated in six space missions.

Padalka commanded the 44th expedition to the International Space Station (ISS), which began on March 27 when lifted off from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, next to Russian Mikhail Kornienko and American Scott Kelly.
The cosmonaut returned aboard a Soyuz spacecraft that landed on Saturday in the Kazakh steppe, just before dawn.
In the Russian capsule also traveled Aidin Aimbetov Kazakh cosmonaut and astronaut Andreas Mogensen Danish , European Space Agency (ESA).

“I’m fine” Padalka said while drinking tea and eating an apple, reports AFP.
Padalka traveling companions are two rookies compared , since this was his first mission, which spent 10 days in orbit

The IEE were six crew members, including the NASA astronaut Scott Kelly and Russian Mikhail Kornienko , who will be one year aboard the space laboratory 400 km orbit.
