As I have always preached the computer security companies, there is no insurance system or device.
This time the turn was for the Apple store and mobile devices iPhone and iPad, which were compromised in an attack (the first large scale against this popular application store) originated in China.
cybercriminals managed in that China groups of developers of applications for Apple mobile system will use a tool to create applications, called Xcode Ghost, a supposed free and improved version of the original Xcode, with which programs compatible with iPhone and iPad are built. This platform ‘injected’ malicious code to applications that were manipulated.
So, according to some cybersecurity companies, at least 60 programs were detected as infected .
Some of them are WinZip, PDF Reader, WhiteTile, Cam Scanner Lite, Golfsense, InstaFollower, DataMonitor, WeeLoop, OPlayer, WeChat, Guitar Master, CamCard and LifeSmart , to name a few that are used all over the world. Many of the apps are popular in China committed.
Although at first it said the malware (malicious code) in those applications sent less information only criminals, Wired magazine revealed it also offers the ability to run more digital Pirate complex commands in the iPhone and iPad, as opening Internet addresses in the browser and launch alerts (notifications) false on the user’s screen.
Apple said it has dropped at least 60 of these applications, as determined, were created or modified with pirate platform, and will continue working to be alert.
“We are working with developers to ensure they use the correct version of Xcode to recompile (rebuild) their applications” , said an Apple spokesman told The Guardian.
