Microsoft buys LinkedIn by 26,200 million – Terra.com

Microsoft announced Monday that it is buying the professional networking site LinkedIn for about 26,200 million dollars.

LinkedIn, based in Mountain View, California, has over 430 million members. Users use the network to contact other professionals, post their resumes and search for jobs on the site itself or through its apps.

agreement is expected to materialize this year. LinkedIn will keep its name and independence. Jeff Weiner remain as CEO of LinkedIn.

Microsoft Corp., which is headquartered in Redmond, Washington, said it is paying $ 196 for each share of LinkedIn Corp., a premium of 50% of the closing price action on Friday of $ 131.08.

LinkedIn shares 49% in the weeks before the official opening of markets on Monday soared electronic trading.
