Since then, scientists tried to explain where they came from these small beings, because of their short stature and presence on the island. For some anthropologists, the man of Flores would be a descendant of small Homo habilis or Australopithecus arrived from Africa. According to others, it would be a Homo erectus that was shrinking to fit scarce resources.
