Three astronauts return to Earth after six months in space – Publimetro Chile

A team of three astronauts, including Britain’s Tim Peake, landed on the steppes of Kazakhstan on Saturday after completing a six-month mission on the International Space Station (ISS).

Peake, the first British astronaut on the ISS, Russian Yury Malenchenko and NASA astronaut Tim Kopra landed southeast of the Kazakh town of Zhezkazgan, in their Soyuz capsule at 09H15 GMT after spending 186 days in orbit.

“it was amazing. The best trip I’ve had in my life,” Peake said. “It was just fantastic, from the beginning to the end.”

Around 02H15 GMT, they were fired from NASA astronaut Jeff Williams and Russian Oleg Skripochka and Alexey Ovchini, who remained on board the ISS.

the three men took off in December heading into space from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

the mission of Peake in space has been marked by a series of milestones . In January he became the first Briton to walk in space when remplazaba an electric unit. And in April he set a Guinness record when he ran a marathon tied to a treadmill, while the London Marathon was held.

The next launch from Baikonur to the ISS is scheduled for 7 July, with Russian Anatoly Ivanishin, Kate Rubins US and Japanese Takuya Onishi.
