Facebook launches Community Help: a tool to help out during emergencies – HoyEnTEC

Facebook, the most popular social network in the world, added a new tool to its platform, crisis response and emergency Safety Check. The new feature will be enabled from today and will allow people to people able to ask for and offer food, shelter, and transportation during any disaster. the Safety Check, as you already know, is a simple way to communicate with friends and family after a crisis or a natural disaster. Many people have made use of it, since that allows you to easily notify your friends and family that you’re safe and that you’ll get with them soon.

For his part, the new tool Community Help, expands the scope and functionality of Safety Check, which will allow people to help each other and in a direct way.

How does it work?
when Safety Check is activated after a crisis or natural disaster, the people in the affected area will begin to see the tool of Community Help on their menus. Community Help will allow you two things: If you’re good, you’ll be able to offer or provide help, in addition to communicate with others by using Safety Check. If the disaster has affected, you’ll be able to ask for help, refuge and/or food with someone who has had better luck than you. Facebook announced that the publications may be viewed by category or place, making it easier to search the help.

In his blog, the social network said: "Community Help will be available after incidents such as earthquakes or fires. We will begin to test the tool in Saudi Arabia, Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand and the united States, to understand how people use the Community Help, and as well to extend it later to other countries and other types of incidents."

do you Know how to turn the Safety Check from Facebook? The Safety Check needs to meet two requirements to be activated. the first, the global agencies of reports of crises, such as iJET International and NC4 reported to Facebook that an incident has occurred and assigned to a category. Later, Facebook begins to monitor the messages on the incident in the area. The activation of the function occurs at this point. In the second place, if many people are talking about the incident, they themselves can be marked safe, and inviting other users to do the same.
