Andromeda is the result of a mix between Chrome OS and Android, a bet that, without a doubt, it will be a bomb.
This week was interesting in terms of changes presented in Google. First, the service of Google Apps for business will now be called the "G Suite". In official mail to the customers as announced by the washing of the face of the platform: "we Believe Google Apps to help people around the world to innovation, and work in a team, so that your organization can move forward more quickly and reach more achievements. Today, we are introducing a new name that better reflects this mission: G Suite". That way, it was made official the change in the unified communications suite of Google.
Changing the subject, from a very good source we have confirmed that Google is planning a new laptop Pixel 3, which is expected to be launched in the first half of 2017. This is not the first time that Google is betting on this type of solutions; in fact, in the market you can find several Chromebooks supported in brands such as Lenovo, Do HP, among others. "Pixel 3" will be the first brand clearly Google, with the novelty of its new and unique operating system, called Andromeda.
Without knowing the scope of the new operating system, the bet is that, unlike the current Chromebook that have an "ecosystem ” limited" applications, with Andrómera you can download and install Android apps. Android applications are attempted to introduce into Chrome OS with a project aparate called ARC, while Andromeda is an initiative that is much bigger and more ambitious, which is to be achieved through the fusion of features of Chrome on Android.
These computers are emerging as a laptop computer, ultra-slim, with a screen of 12.3", even, according to the sources, could have a "tablet mode", and the rumors also indicate that it would cost approximately 800 dollars.
The challenge
One of the problems faced by Google is that the user’s "common", like you or me, it always associated to the portable computers with the Windows operating system, and it is these that we are able to install the Office Suite, install and design programs, among other things.
Some brands market their laptops without Windows and install Ubuntu. By experience, I have been able to show that the people do not feel comfortable with something other than Windows on their laptops. Despite the fact that the environments and graphics are very nice, the experience of the use of Windows at the level of personal use has virtually been "tattooed" in the preferences of the end users.
Chrome OS is a bet that from a few years ago introduced Google to the end use. This is a basic operating system; on a personal level, I think one of the main limitations was its reliance of the internet, without a connection to the network, the functions of the operating system are highly reduced. In contrast, Android has a different flavor: your ecosystem of applications is immense, and thus they don’t have an internet connection, you can live an experience of use is not so limited.
Andromeda is the result of a mix between Chrome OS and Android, a bet that, without doubt, be a pump, as Android, combined with a powerful hardware, you could put out more than one.
With regards to the price, US$ 800 (approximately 3 million pesos) are too much, if we take into account that for this value, the competitors can offer a team of features high. This should not be a cause for concern, for now. We hope that you do your official launch.
