Facebook will help you “forget” to your ex-partner – FORTUNE

CALIFORNIA, United States (CNNMoney) – just finished with your partner a year. You spent the last three days tied to your couch, very devastated (a) to swim or eat nothing but fast food. Facebook open timidly between chapters of series and movies from Netflix and you realize that your “ex” posted a picture with a smile on a night out.

The breaks in the times of social networks can be hard. Facebook is testing a new way to help relieve pain, without forcing you to stop being friends with your ex-partner or delete all publications in which you appear to him / her.

The new “Take a Break” option when you announce a break in Facebook. After your change of status in the relationship, you have the option of choosing what you see on your “ex” and they can see about you.

If you choose to “do less” of your ex-partner, your updates do not appear in the wall of news you will not receive reminders and Facebook so they can tag you in photos of old couple. (But do not worry, you can continue viewing your ex-partner while listening desagarradoras songs).

The form will on both sides. You can hide your own updates. With this option, your “ex” can only see the publications in which you are labeled, or things that publish or share mutual friends.

As Facebook has found its form of memories, sometimes the past is really painful. An editing option lets you review your old publications and block an “ex” of those memories, or stop tag you in some selfies in which you appeared, when you were with your other half.

“This work is part of an ongoing effort to develop resources available to people in difficult moments in their lives,” Facebook said in a blog posting.

In the past, perhaps you could burn a box of photos. That’s difficult when you have digital photos.

Perhaps this is not therapy, but it has one big advantage: none Facebook changes are permanent. You can undo anytime, something good if you come back with your ex-partner, or decide to be your friend / a, or even if you get caught nostalgia.

The method is being tested in the United States, but eventually must reach all the broken hearts around the world.
