Microsoft sued the US government for spying on its customers – Globovisión

Microsoft Corp sued the US government for the right to inform their customers when a federal agency is looking at your emails.

the complaint, filed Wednesday in federal court in Washington, he argues that the government is violating the Constitution of the United States to prevent Microsoft notify thousands of customers about government requests for emails and other documents.

These actions violate the Fourth Amendment, which establishes the right of individuals and businesses to know whether the Government recorded or seized their property, argues demand, and the First Amendment on freedom of expression.

the denunciation of Microsoft focuses on data storage on remote servers, instead of doing it locally on the computers of people, something that, microsoft, opened a new door for the government to access electronic data.
