Dallas.- The social network Facebook today launched its function Marketplace (market), which will allow its millions of users to make operations of purchase and sale of items in your community, such as clothing, furniture, electronics, household items, or cars.
The new feature is available since this Monday for the users of Facebook are over 18 years, located in the united States, United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand, and in the next few months will spread to other countries.
The launch of Facebook Marketplace is a direct challenge to sites for classified ads such as Craigslist, or online shopping like eBay and other similar sale, and trade.
“the Marketplace makes it easy to find new things that you love, and find a new home for the things that you’re willing to get rid of,” explained Facebook in a statement.
the Marketplace will allow those who want to sell something to take advantage of your network of contacts on Facebook to try to find who sell it, and would also be easier to find the products that the users of your city have published to sell.
Facebook already had a feature that allowed the purchase and sale of items between individuals, and it is estimated that up to 450 million of the billion 710 million users of this network used function of Facebook Groups, such as a bazaar community.
however, Facebook Marketplace is a function of more organized and safe that will allow Facebook to compete with sites of direct marketing well-established, such as Craigslist.
Facebook said that the inspiration for the Marketplace comes from the observation that a significant number of people were using Facebook to buy and sell products, especially in “Groups”.
“In response to the conduct that we have detected on Facebook, we’re launching Marketplace, a new way, easy and organized to help people find, buy and sell their items on Facebook, at the local level,” said the company.
the Marketplace will allow users to search directly for the product that interests you and filter the results by location, category or price. Also allow to send a message directly to the seller to arrange the purchase or to make an offer.
The transaction is concrete outside of Facebook. People can meet personally or arrange shipping.
To sell, the new feature makes it easy to place photos and texts in the article that you wish to sell, set the price of the product, describe its location and select the category where you want to sell it.
Facebook does not charge users for this service, which seeks to provide more options for people to spend more time in your site.
