Few names are as big in the world of video games like Final Fantasy. For 29 years this series of RPG games has launched more than a dozen masterpieces, and Final Fantasy XV adds to them not as the best, but yes as another delivery is masterful, full of emotion, adventure, magic and a lot of japanese humour.
The title of Final Fantasy have always been characterized by following the same formula in its plot, at least in some way: a hero is found in a personal adventure until he realizes that something much bigger around and it’s time to save the world, in the company of charismatic characters, stubborn, and the tontorrón of turn (that always make us laugh). the FFXV is no exception. What begins as the adventure of a prince who travels by road with three friends until they find the one that will be your wife ends up being a fight for the honor, the peace and (how not) to save the world.
The game was in development for almost 10 years and in this time has experienced many changes in its plot, gameplay, and even in his name. It was originally known as Final Fantasy Versus XIII and was a spin-off in the universe of FFXIII, but it ended up being something completely new.
The history of FFXV is as huge as complicated. In the game we will find a prince called Noctis, of the kingdom Lucis, who travels with his three best friends (and bodyguards) by road in a car extremely luxurious (worthy of royalty, I suppose) until they meet up with Lady Lunafreya, the woman with whom he would be married to secure peace between her kingdom and the empire of Niflheim.
however, things do not go as they were planned. While Noctis travels quietly by the world his father, the King Lucis Caelum, is attacked by the rival empire, and when the prince finds his journey becomes a struggle to regain the honor of his family, the peace and his reign. In something much bigger than your wedding and your trip with friends.
I will Not detail what happens in the kingdom of Lucis during the absence of Noctis but can be summed up in that things end very badly. Square Enix decided to tell this part of the story through a movie called Kingslaive: Final Fantasy XV that you should see, especially if you want to play this title because it gives you a lot more information about what is happening in the world of FFXV.
The history of FFXV has everything you’d expect from a Final Fantasy: a hero and his friends, a girl that seems to need rescue but it is a lot harder than we imagined, weapons, giants, spells, demons, gods, spells, a political conflict-military, and, how not, hairstyles that seem to come out of the boy band turn.
Because as I would say one of my classmates in Gizmodo: "the characters of Final Fantasy always have a look that seems to be the fusion between a hairdresser and a singer of pop". And do not lack reason.
The most interesting part of the plot of Final Fantasy XV is that for more complicated and huge that is what can ensnare us in the game is the interaction between its four characters. Noctis, Ignis, Gladio and the tontorrón Prompto are four best friends traveling, driving, chatting, enjoy the music, camp, cook and do all the things that friends do. Even when the world is in danger, and they fight demons and bosses giant that seems to matter more than anything else is what will be the dinner that night, or see photos. It is something that will give you endless smiles during the entire campaign.
That, in addition to that Prompto is always taking pictures (and selfies) of the things that friends do, and when you look at the characters of the comment with phrases such as "hey, what good is I in this picture". It feels real and it helps to forget for a time the conflict that exists in the world.
The gameplay of Final Fantasy XV is different: Square Enix has opted to create a combat system much more dynamic, fluid and fast. Don’t expect to see the typical turn-based combat classic of the saga (as we recently saw in World of Final Fantasy), in this installment we will control only Noctis in a quick combat based on combos of attacks, change weapons and teleportarte in the field of battle to do more damage (or flee). You can also perform spells, and to invoke deities, to release a hell on your enemies, because no Final Fantasy is complete without invocations.
Although Ignis, Prompto and Gladio move by themselves most of the times it is also possible to do special attacks, group with events in quick time, in which you’ll have to press buttons to follow the sequence and do the most damage possible. The system is really cool and fun, no fight will be boring and as you progress in the campaign you’ll get more and more skills and spells to use. It may not be the style of Final Fantasy that you know of all the life, but you shouldn’t let that stop you to prove it.
in Addition, the world of FFXV is open almost in its entirety. Three-quarters of the game you can go wherever you want and do missions, alternatives, or explore, but during the last part of the title will force you to follow the story in order not to lose the thread at the conclusion of the plot.
Final Fantasy XV is a new delivery of epic in a saga full of masterpieces. It may be that your story is not as memorable as the FFVII or FFX, but still very good. And what made this game with esu new system of combat has been give a facelift to the series that in many ways I needed.
Finally, the visual area of the game is so attractive that you can trap for long periods of time. Each stage feels alive and real, including those moments when camping in the Ignis kitchen while Prompto shows Noctis the photos of the day with a laugh, as something that any of us could do with their friends. The plot of FFXV can have bugs, but its end is perfect, and will be remembered for years to these characters (and their hairstyles).
50 hour games are short.
