With his new cell G6, LG wants to put to test the saying “the early bird God helps”.
according To a report from ET News, LG wants to launch its next flagship phone in late February or early march of 2017, this with such a pre-empt to the launch of the Galaxy S8, the new star phone of his rival and kinswoman, the sudcoreana Samsung.
the launch of The G6, to occur on the dates suggested by ET News, would happen a month before the date on which the G5 was released in 2016. The reason for this adjustment in dates is simple: to increase sales.
The G5, despite providing the novel feature of the modularity, could not seduce the consumer and not had the success of the Moto Z Lenovo, another phone also modular, but that had more impact thanks to a more attractive design and more functions with the modules.
The predecessor of the G6 was announced in February in the framework of the mobile world congress, aka MWC, however, were available only until April 2015. LG would expect to put the G6 in circulation a month before than its predecessor, at least.
Meanwhile, Samsung is preparing for the launch of the Galaxy S8. It is important to highlight that the name G6 and Galaxy S8 are informal, as none of the two manufacturers in south Korean has confirmed the naming of their new cell phones.
Samsung typically announce their flagship phone on the same dates of the MWC, but because of what happened with the Galaxy Note 7, the giant asian would be thinking to launch its Galaxy S8 later, even in the second quarter of 2017 and do not rush the launch.
In terms of specs sheet, the LG G6 will bring several new features, such as resistance to water, iris scanner as a new method of biometric security, a payment service created by LG, and wireless charging. The unknown is larger and if the G6 will –or eliminate– the functions modular. All this, according to reports.
