Twitter welcomes you to the live broadcasts – CNNExpansión.com

Become a Meerkat hand, there is a new player in the market for live broadcasts.

Periscope, which Twitter acquired in January, allows users to broadcast live from their mobile devices. Sound familiar? It is the responsibility of Meerkat.

Users can transmit an event at Periscope down the app and connect to Twitter. Your followers will then receive a notification to continue transmission.

Co-founder Kayvon Beykpour, told CNNMoney that he thought the application to be used in several scenarios: from live events and protests, to more personal moments like the birth of a baby or the funeral of a maescota .

Beykpour had the idea when considering whether to go or not to travel to Istanbul during protests in 2013.

“I wanted to see a picture of what was happening on the street where my hotel “Beykpour said. “Joe [Bernstein, co-founder] and I are still talking about posbilidad that thousands of people were walking down the street with mobile and fast connections. So, why there was an application to show us what happened?

The solution has more options than Meerkat.

Periscope users have the option to convey publicly or only with a select group of users. They also have the option to transmit only in the app or on Twitter . The app allows users to send hearts if they like what they see or look for better options.

Since its launch, high impact Meerkat was among several users as Jimmy Fallon and Snoop Dogg. Periscope, which comes in its Beta version and has among its members the Department of the Interior US and chef Mario Batali.

While Meerkat has the attention right now, Periscope has an advantage: full access to social graphs Twitter.

This makes it easier for users to connect with their friends. Meerkat originally had access but no longer does. The founder Ben Rubin said it was a bump but are planning to make another tool.
