Apple sold 61 million iPhones between January and March – CNNExpansión.com

MEXICO CITY (CNNExpansión) – Apple sold 61 million iPhones in the first quarter and achieved revenues of 58,000 million dollars (mdd), which exceeded expectations of analysts.

Specialists estimated that the company sold 55 million iPhones and had revenues of 55,900 million dollars.

The signature apple gains achieved 13,600 million dollars in the reference period.

“We are amazed to see the strength of iPhone, and Mac App Store,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook, in reporting the results.

“We are seeing more people switching to the iPhone what we had experienced in previous periods and we are expecting a good quarter to June with the launch of Apple Watch”, he added.

During the period, the company sold 12.6 million iPads and 4.5 million units Mac.
