Meteor Shower will be from Earth – La Voz del Interior

A Geminid meteor shower will be visible from Earth between Saturday night and Sunday morning, as announced by the National Administration of Aeronautics and Space (Nasa, in Wikipedia).

The agency said that “it’s the most wonderful time of the year” for Geminid meteor observing.



“It is anticipated that the meteor shower 2014 Geminids are a meteor shower with excellent views over the skies of Earth, “NASA said on its website.

The display will be between Saturday night and Sunday morning. The “best viewing will be in places dark sky, away from city lights,” he predicted.

The Geminids are pieces of remains of an object called 3200 Phaethon, which is classified as an extinct comet. “It’s basically the rocky skeleton of a comet that lost its ice after many close encounters with the sun,” he said.
