Cairo, November 10 (Notimex) .- Scientists seeking cameras and other secrets hidden in the pyramids of Egypt, for the first time scanning technology, detected “thermal anomalies” that could indicate “something hidden” within the Great Pyramid of Giza.
The thermal variations were detected in rocks from the base of enormous polyhedron during a scan “Scan Pyramids” international project launched late last October to inspect and understand its architecture and design interior.
The Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities said in a statement the discovery of anomalies and noted that scientists have several hypotheses, but they would carry out more research before revealing them.
The team of researchers from Egypt, Canada, France and Japan began to scan the internal structure of four pyramids in Egypt, using advanced infrared technology and cosmic rays.
They noted a number of anomalies in the signatures heat of the pyramids a “particularly impressive” located on the eastern side of the pyramid of Khufu (Cheops) at ground level, said Minister of Antiquities, Mamdouh el-Damat.
“There is something as a small passage at ground level that reaches a different temperature zone, what’s behind it? “the-Damat wondered, quoted in reports local newspaper The Cairo Post.
thermal mapping of the pyramids using infrared thermography is designed to identify any gaps behind the walls of the pyramid as cavities, chambers, passages and different types of building materials.
The x-ray cosmic rays meanwhile detect unknown ancient monuments structures.
The base of the Great Pyramid of Giza showed differences in temperature six degrees between two adjacent blocks of limestone, when usually varying between 0.1 and 0.5 degrees .
“This anomaly is really impressive and is right in front of us, on the ground floor,” said Mehdi Tayoubi, founder of the Institute of Innovative Wealth Preservation, based in Paris, leading scanning the pyramids.
At this stage, the research team has not revealed its assumptions about the failure until more research is done, although the Egyptologist Beth Ann Judas said the eastern side of the Great Pyramid where
detected “was the focal point of the pyramid.” In that side are located several important temples and tombs, as well as the Nile, the pyramids also have a connection to the solar aspect and worship the god Ra in ancient Egyptian religion, he said.
The next stage of research will involve the construction of thermal models and simulations to test different theories.
The project Pyramids scanning is scheduled to last more than a year and will feature infrared technology longtime four -Keops and Khafre pyramid in Giza, and the Red and Bent pyramids at Dahshur -.
