Faraday’s Future, the novel american company of electric cars that ambitions to surpass Tesla, unveiled finally their first vehicle, proclaiming that it is a “new species” of personal transportation.
The company, backed by billionaire chinese Jia Yueting announced Tuesday at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, which would begin to receive orders for its model FF91, with a deposit of $ 5,000 for cars that will be delivered in 2018.
The company, which already had presented its prototype last year and is building a factory in the outskirts of las Vegas (Nevada, western united states), did not give details about the price of a new car, but it offered information on the range of the battery, the power and acceleration, which points to a vehicle of high range that exceeds that of Tesla in the most important features.
Faraday provides, for example, 604 km of autonomy, according to the references of the united States, compared to 506 km of Tesla.
The tests also showed that the vehicle accelerates to 100 km/h in just 2,39 seconds, surpassing his rivals.
“This is day 1 of a new era of mobility”, said the executive vice president of engineering, Nick Sampson. The car “is the first of a new species”, he added.
The vehicle is equipped with the highest technology: have a system, semi-autonomous, which allows the self-parking, multiple modems that connect him to the internet and custom settings for the driver and the chaperones.
“Everyone in the car will have your seat custom,” said Sampson.
The chinese businessman said he hopes the project can help people to navigate in a new era of mobility which is more respectful with the environment. “Once you have this, you can get rid of the other cars out of your garage,” he said. (I)
