The giant japanese video game Bandai Namco announced this Monday that Masaya Nakamura, the founder of the company, creator of the successful Pac-Man, died at the age of 91.
it Had started Namco in 1955, a humble company that had two mechanical horses for children on the roof of a warehouse in Yokohama.
His greatest success came after a time, thanks to the video game, designed by Toru Iwatani, which went on sale in 1980 and he became an icon, and in the arcade game world’s most successful.
According to Iwatani, the idea for the game came from a pizza missing a piece.
In 2005 the toy company Bandai was merged with Namco to become the third video game developer from Japan, and Nakamura earned a place of honour in the new company.
Bandai Namco announced Monday that Nakamura died on the 22nd of January, although not reported the cause of death for the wishes of the family.
