Following the steps of Nintendo, Sony has plans to launch at least five games for mobile devices, reported the newspaper the Nikkei.

according To the report, Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), the arm of Sony entertainment, want to launch these games for smart phones in 2018. The games would be focused at the japanese market, and, in general, to the asian market.

The report suggests that the games will be related to franchises successful PlayStation, but it does not offer specific examples. However, The Nikkei says that SIE would reveal the titles of these games to the end of the year.

Sony did not comment to the newspaper.

In march, Sony announced ForwardWorks, a subsidiary of the giant japanese that would develop games and applications for phones, tablets and other connected devices. Without confirmed, ForwardWorks it would be the task of the creation of these games to launch in 2018.

The giant nippon is not the only company interested in the mobile market. Nintendo, another manufacturer iconic of the industry, already made official his interest in developing games for mobile, and even already gave the first step with Miitomo, an application with dyes of a social network mobile game.

it Is unknown if Sony will bring its big franchises to mobile, or if you only launch games developed for these platforms. But if you plan to arrive at the mobile with the right foot, Sony should do the same to Nintendo: bring your best cards.

With Miitomo, Nintendo took the first step in the mobile, but not the best way because the app was losing the attention of the users. But the giant nippon has an ace under the sleeve and it’s called Super Mario Run, the first mobile game of Nintendo with the acclaimed plumber and beloved character.
