The main reason for which the AirPods is that the engineers on the project have been facing problems that has prevented the mass production of the headset; the problems will be related to the synchronization of both hearing aids as well as problems with the microphone.
In a Bluetooth headset is traditional, one of the hearing aids is in charge of receiving the signal of the device and is then transmitted to the other pair, so that ultimately deliver the sound in both ears. However, in the AirPods, each one of the headset receives a separate signal, for which Apple is working to make sure that each one of the outputs of the audio signal is received by the audio at the same time without distortion.
In the same way before Apple put the sales of its wireless headset is what happens when one of the pair is lost or the load you have in your battery is running out.
