Google commemorated with ‘doodle’ in the first expedition that reached the South Pole – Trade

A December 14, makes it 105 years ago Roald Amundsen led the first expedition that reached the South Pole. the Google commemorating the event with a new 'doodle' that chart a tent in full southern region.

Known as “the last of the vikings”, Amundsen was born July 16, 1872 in Borge, Norway. He was an adventurer of a lifetime with a gift for organization and planning. “Victory awaits he who has everything in order”, once wrote the explorer, and his journey in the South Pole was a perfect illustration of that principle.

Had a great training sailor and a special ability in the survival techniques, learned in part from his experience in winter sports, in the life of the inuit, and in the expeditions that preceded it.

In their different expeditions counted with a renowned team in the fields of navigation, of the ski, of the aeronautical engineering and aviation.

The group of expedition of Amundsen, Google commemorates, consisted of 19 people and almost 100 sled dogs of Greenland. The dogs, along with the use of skis for crossing treacherous land, were key to the success of the team. In the same way as was the knowledge on the part of the members of the expedition – the sense of fun, as this helped the maintenance of a good state of mind, necessary in extreme situations as this.

Amundsen disappeared on 18 June 1928 while flying on a plane in the course of a rescue operation in the Arctic.
