Caracas, April 27, 2015 .- Facebook and Google have added this week to the global campaign of solidarity with Nepal with activation of new tools to search for survivors after the powerful earthquake that hit the country and has left more than 3,700 dead.
“Find and connect quickly with friends who are in the area. Confirms that are fine if you know you are out of danger, “reads the new Facebook tool.
Through the geolocation, social network allows those who give notice to report if a contact is out of danger
THE FACT. To use the tool without being in Nepal is necessary to place ‘Safety Check’ in the search box and then activate Facebook. See here how it works: “This morning we activate ‘Safety Check’ for people affected by the earthquake in Nepal, this is a simple way to let you know your family and friends you’re okay,” wrote Mark Zuckerberg (the creator of Facebook) Sunday.
Meanwhile, Google also activated its “Person Finder” which helps search for missing persons or to inform relatives who are well. So far, there is no current figure of how many people are missing the devastating earthquake that destroyed part of Nepal.
