Facebook prepares a news service – CCM

Facebook is designing an application that will provide users breaking news.

The company led by Mark Zuckerberg might be working on an application of news in the footsteps of Twitter, who seeks to create an exclusive tab for the daily news.

As published by Business Insider and eco Portaltic is, this application must be downloaded separately from Facebook and will allow users to select which topics or media your interest . The news not only will be available on the timeline app , but users will receive a notification each time a new article is published .

Will the media themselves who take care of generating said alert with a message not exceeding 100 characters . Upon receipt, the user clicks on it will decide whether to continue reading or not.

This application is very much in the line of another tool recently launched by Facebook, Instant Articles , which allows the media ( The New York Times or BBC, among others) publish comprehensive news on the timeline of Facebook members. However, it seems that the Facebook service dedicated to news is still at a very early stage of development. In fact, although the leaders of the popular social network has declined to comment, it is known that the application is currently in alpha phase and, for now, is only being tested by a limited number of media.
