Twitter remove the limit of 140 characters in direct messages – ElTiempo.com

In recent months Twitter has introduced several changes to direct messages (DM) and the option to send them to different individuals, groups or users who are not followed in common.

Although one of the main features is the extension limit of 140 characters, the network made a new change in the direct messages to keep track of connections and boost private conversations between users .

This change is for private conversations , ie direct messages which are no longer limited to 140 characters. With this setting, the network prevents users from having to divide their talks in several messages or just to send a single text of 140 characters.

From today, l os users can conduct conversations with up to 10,000 characters , similar to instant messaging services. The change will be implemented in Android apps, iOS, twitter.com, TweetDeck and Twitter for Mac.

The server explained that the expansion in the number of characters is only for direct message option , the tweets continue to have a maximum of 140 characters.

On the other hand, the application of streaming developed by Twitter has reached 10 million users in less than four months after its launch. Periscope has been welcomed by the majority of twitter , because through this application users can transmit and display live video.
