Twitter fires 8% of its global workforce – Televisa News

MEXICO CITY, Mexico, in October. 13,2015.- Twitter, one of the world leaders in the market of social networking companies, announced it will lay off 336 employees from its workforce, resulting in 8% of the total worldwide.

Through a filing with the Securities Market Commission of USA (SEC, for its acronym in English), Twitter said that “the Board of Directors of the Company approved a restructuring and reduction plan force to 336 employees, which represents about 8% of the global workforce of the company. “

It is noteworthy that the layoffs come after the announcement a week ago that Jack Dorsey occupy the CEO position permanently, also in his first statements promised major changes within the company.

It is estimated that the company will allocate between 10 and 20 million dollars, mainly to cover the costs of compensation of employees laid off.
