Thursday 11 August the sky will light up completely with the meteor shower Perseids , which according to the National Administration of Aeronautics and Space ( NASA ), will be the most impressive this decade.
This meteor shower can be observed every year in the month of August. To better appreciate this spectacle of nature, forecasters have advised away from the city lights because although the Perseids can be seen from the big cities, the most impressive bursts will be only in rural areas.
Note that the night of 12 to 13 August meteors light up the sky as the comet’s tail Swift-Tuttle , despite not located near Earth, it coincides with the orbit of our planet, so small pieces of dust collide with the Earth’s atmosphere at 212,000 kilometers per hour giving us a breathtaking view that you can not miss.
To see the meteor shower Perseids in Mexico, you can visit the Natural History Museum , where in addition to lectures and workshops, there will be an astronomical rally to witness the event. Access will be free, only you have to register via email. The hours will be from 20:00 hours to 02:00 hours on Thursday, Friday.
