Samsung to owners of a Galaxy Note 7: turn Off their phones – CNET in Spanish

If you own a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 — even one that is supposedly a replacement for sure — you’ll have to shut it off immediately, and stop using it.

That was the message of the Safety Commission Consumer Products Usa (CPSC) and the own Samsung. Although it is not known why replacement phones from Samsung have also been burned to the ground, or how many have been affected, both Samsung as the u.s. agency are calling for consumers to avoid exposure to any problem. About five phones Note 7 replacement supposedly have caught fire or exploded, the majority during the weekend.

This is the most recent problem in the nightmare that has lived Samsung with this device, initially recalling more than 1 million phones after multiple reports of units that were on fire due to problems with the battery.

“As we continue with our investigation of reports of phones overheating and burning in several states, consumers should turn off and stop using the Galaxy Note 7,” said the chairman of the CPSC, Elliot Kaye said in a statement. “This is the safest option”.

Samsung has said it is formally asking for comment to all its partners around the world to stop selling, and exchanging the Galaxy Note 7 as investigating the units that are meant to be exploited.

The telephone operators largest of the united States, including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and Sprint — have already announced that they have halted sales of the device.
