The European Southern Observatory in Chile, and the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory in Spain, will be the venues where it is installed the global network of gamma ray telescopes, the largest in the world. In total, the Cherenkov Telescope Network (CAT, for its acronym in English) will consist of 120 telescopes distributed between the two hemispheres. Its construction will cost 200 million euros and aims to be ready in 2020.
