Google postpones test of its modular smartphone – Trade

The Internet giant Google announced in January that it would test Puerto Rico Project Ara smartphone module that enables changing any part of the device to gradually upgrade, but the company announced on Twitter that the project will change from initial test market.

Currently, it is unknown what the new region where it will debut this test phone, just know that more details will be given during the next week and that, even though Puerto Rico will not be the first country to where it comes, the project will enter the country anyway.

What is confirmed is that Ara Project will not see the light until next year and will be until then that we will know what the impact of this device market smartphone .

Project Ara offers an electronic skeleton houses connections in which you can insert interchangeable modules, which when combined form a device completely. The advantage is that users can remove one of these components and replace them with another at any time.

When Google showed Project Ara , the modules were limited to the screen, speakers , Bluetooth, WiFi, 3G, camera, microUSB, battery and processor, but is expected to be more items that can be exchanged in the future.

The project concept is the same as the computer Traditional assembled: to change some old components with new ones in order that the device is kept up to date
