New Class C Coupé, closer to perfection – Clarín.com

In the next Hall of Frankfurt (Germany) to be held from 17 to 27 next month, Mercedes-Benz will be presenting as a novelty the new C-Class Coupé. But as automakers can not wait for the big event and usually anticipate information and photos, the brand with the star did the same in this case. In addition, a few days after the AMG version also he released.

The new C-Class Coupe, which from December will be replacing the first generation launched in 2011, aimed their guns at BMW 4 Series. As versions of the C-Class already known (sedan and rural), this body looks more rounded lines than before. Is 95 mm longer and 40 mm wider than the previous coupe, having also added 80 mm to its wheelbase.

Mercedes-Benz Argentina intends to import this coupe version of Class C for the second semester of 2016

The Fall of the rear window ending in a very distinct tail is the highlight of his figure. But a longer hood 60 mm is also observed in the previous coupe, with a front well in tune with the current brand identity, dominated big mouths below the optical and a grill full of “diamonds”. At first glance, the tail may be confused with the S-Class, with a curved trunk lid well and fine lights. Two exit tailpipes with good size always draw the eye toward the bottom. The profile is perhaps his most beautiful view, with flowing line and little glass surface.

The fall of the bezel is one of its hallmarks. The bonnet, meanwhile, is 60 longer than its predecessor mm.

Inside, the cabin takes almost everything sedan, with a central console well important. The driver finds a low driving position, as expected in a sports car (the coupe is 15 mm lower than the four-door), with new sports seats. The central display is not stamped on the plate is so characteristic of the brand and all the technology in information systems included in this car.

This development has standard steel suspension course of athletic performance and system variants with two selectable hardness. As an option, it will be available AIRMATIC air suspension, electronically controlled.

Initially, there will be four gasoline engines and two turbodiesel. Among the former are the 1.6 four-cylinder C 180 with 156 hp, two-liter C 200 (184 hp) and 250 C (211 hp) and the C 300, another 2.0 to 245 horses. The diesel will also be four-cylinder 170 and 204 horsepower.

Later Mercedes-AMG also announced and released its own version of the coupe Class C. The C 63 Coupe has more bulging wheel arches to accommodate larger wheels, so the trail was also increased. This development will have more power and a larger-than ever seen in this model maximum speed.

With any specific aesthetic AMG under the hood hides a twin-turbo 4.0-liter engine, 476 hp power and 650 Nm of torque. Thus, the C 63 accelerates from 0-100 km / h in 4 seconds. But the S version low one-tenth the time, although both arrive at a limited speed of 250 km / h (with Driver’s Package package, 290 km / h). The variant of the same engine of the latter reaches 510 hp and 700 Nm.

Always with rear-wheel drive, the AMG Mercedes C-63 has called sophisticated AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension with electronically controlled dampers and different modes of use. This more radical option is worthy of taking to the track to enjoy the most, although no one could be unhappy with the new standard C Class. Whoever wants an option to explore a little more in concept, will have to wait a little, it goes on sale the promised cabriolet version, which might appear next year.
