Detect particles capable of escape from a black hole – ElEspectador.com

Israeli scientists published Monday in the journal “Nature” the most compelling evidence so far of particles able to escape the enormous gravitational field of a black hole a phenomenon predicted in 1974 by the British physicist Stephen Hawking.

black holes are regions of space with so massive that even light trapped inside , although discovered by the famous astrophysicist quantum effect makes are not completely black but emit a weak radiation .

This issue is so slight that never been observed in space objects, but has detected its trace on models laboratory.

“despite the importance of black hole thermodynamics, there were no experimental results to serve as a guide (in this area). the problem is that Hawking radiation emanating from a real black hole must be incredibly weak, “ says the study published in” Nature “.

to overcome this barrier, Jeff Steinhauer and his group have simulated the Israeli Institute of Technology in Haifa, black “acoustic” hole, which are sound waves instead of light, they can not escape.

that model has allowed them to observe a similar phenomenon Hawking radiation in his laboratory, more solid proof to date support the theory of British scientist.

for the first time it has been possible to detect how each of the particles that manage to escape maintain a quantum entanglement with another particle, pushed towards the center of the black hole.

that is one of the key points of Hawking theoretical framework, which until now had not been demonstrated empirically.
