All models of Tesla will be driving autonomous – The Universal

Elon Musk, co-founder of Tesla Motors recently mentioned that all new cars will have a novel hardware-driving autonomous built-in serial, which will allow in the future all cars produced by the company can bring to its users by any way shape practically independent, similar to the vehicles of Google.

even Though the new hardware is compatible with level 5 of autonomy, that is to say, which can be driving by themselves, Tesla will not allow full self-driving immediately. However it is a fact that Tesla has planned to reach this objective after performing a series of software improvements that will be made over time, based on said Musk.

"A complete self-drive will take charge of more complex situations in urban environments. There are two options for people to buy a car: an improved version of the Autopilot or full self-driving," said Musk.

The announcement was published on the official website of the company, and explains that the new hardware will be incorporated in the vehicles, Model X, Model S and the upcoming Model 3, expected for its release in 2018.

In the same way, Musk stated that all vehicles that are currently being produced, will be equipped with eight cameras and 12 sensors, with the purpose of to provide 360-degree visibility, along with a radar in the front.

in Addition, the cars will have a COMPUTER with 40 times more powerful than the previous models, for management decisions. The new hardware uses a processor Nvidia GPUS Titan, and is able to direct a neural network, so that it can process images and define objects in your environment.

Tesla aims to use the data collected by the sensors of the car to drive virtually millions of miles, and so perfect the system before activating functions of automatic driving.
