All of the vehicles Tesla will be able to self-actuate, says Musk – The Financial

Elon Musk moved the world a step closer to the robotic vehicles, saying that all the cars and SUV that his company, Tesla Motors is currently building, will come out of the factory with all the necessary equipment to be fully autonomous.

The drivers can not leave the wheel permanently –at least not yet-but it is a goal after a series of software improvements that will be made over time, based on said Musk to reporters on Wednesday morning.

All the vehicles Tesla that are being produced will have to eight cameras and 12 sensors which give a complete visibility of 360 degrees, backed by a computer with 40 times the processing power of the previous models, reported in a press release the company.

The announcement moves to Tesla beyond the function of the driver assistance called autopilot that has been in all of their vehicles built from October 2014 –more than 114 thousand cars worldwide.

The plan could bring scrutiny added to all the plans automakers in terms of vehicles, self-driving, which are moving towards a market r itmo faster than the regulators. Ford Motor Co. has announced plans to sell taxis robotic in 2021.

Every vehicle built "will have the hardware necessary for a complete capacity for self-driving in a higher level of security much higher than that of a human drivers. This system provides a vision of the world that a driver alone can’t access, seeing in all directions at the same time and in wavelengths that are far beyond the human senses," said Tesla in its report.

SCRUTINY OF AUTOPILOT
Musk commented that the most recent interaction may bring the greatest security and that buyers will have a choice of how much autonomy you want to give your vehicle. "A complete self-drive will take charge of more complex situations in urban environments. There are two options for people to buy a car: an improved version of the Autopilot or full self-driving".

MODEL 3, INCLUDED
The new technology will also be available in the Model 3, a version much more affordable than the sedan Model S, or the suv Model X. The Model 3, which is supposed to start its production by the end of 2017, meets the vision of a long-standing company with headquarters in Palo Alto, California, to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable transport.

Elon Musk revealed the Model 3 in march at the design studio of Tesla in Hawthorne, California. The executive stated at that time that the features of the driver assistance Autopilot would be standard in the car, which would also have a continuous plane of glass to give the cabin a feeling expansive opening.

And in a tweet on 30 march, hinted that there was more to come: "tomorrow is part 1 of the revelation of the Model 3. Part 2, which takes things to another level, you will be closer to production".
