Chinese engineers have developed the first ATM automatic national technology facial recognition to identify users of bank cards, the official Xinhua news agency reported.
The prototype has been developed by Tsinghua University in Beijing and security firm for financial transactions Tzekwan Technology, based in Hangzhou, highlights information.
According to the president of the security company, Gu Zikun, this advance will reduce crimes committed by ATMs.
He stressed also that Chinese cash so far relied excessively on technology alien and now may have a purely national system, an idea that comes in the same month that the Government has initiated the “Made in China” campaign to encourage local innovation.
Companies of some countries, including the US, have tested ATMs using fingerprint and . also facial recognition to identify users, although there are still doubts about its viability
