Nine media published news directly on Facebook – The Economist

Facebook has partnered with 9/2 in a deal that will allow them to inject items directly in line with mobile news network.

Facebook has teamed with 9/2 in a deal that will allow them to inject “instant items” directly in line with mobile news network.

Instant Articles allow stories to be loaded more than 10 times faster than Standard items include the mobile web and media content such as New York Times, BuzzFeed and National Geographic, Facebook said in a blog on its website.

“Instant Articles interactive features allowing them to inject quickly, while maintaining control of their content and business model,” said Facebook product manager Chris Cox.

News editors may or may sell and advertise in the papers and keep all income, or allow Facebook sells ads.

The network will also enable firms to track news and traffic data by comScore and other analytical tools.

The other media companies included in the agreement with NBC, The Atlantic, The Guardian, BBC News, Spiegel and Bild, reported Facebook.
