PC quantum breakthroughs Google – CCM

Google announces that D-Wave quantum computer 2X is 100 million times faster than conventional.

Google has announced that according to their experiments, the D-Wave quantum computer is capable of reaching 2X performance 100 million times to a conventional computer. This was announced by the search in one of its official blogs (in English) in which he explains the work that has been carried out in the Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence Quantum to understand the principles that govern the quantum mechanics.

In a series of experiments, the team responsible for D-Wave 2X compared the performance of this computer with a traditional making had to solve some optimization tasks known as “temple”, demonstrating hardware Google is much faster . In fact, what a conventional machine calculated in 10,000 years, D-Wave 2X what could calculate in a second, according to the director of engineering for the company.

Quantum computing is based on a different fundamental principles to traditional computing. If current computers use bits whose value can be 0 or 1, quantum computers use qubits , a unit of information whose value can be 0, 1, or both simultaneously . This, in theory, allows quantum computers to perform calculations at speeds much higher than those of traditional and represents an information revolution in the future.
