The electrical Power-Tesla for the whole of the island of Ta u American Samoa and its 600 residents was the celebration of the signing of California after the acquisition of the company SolarCity for $ 2,600 million.
After a year of work on the installation of a system of 5,328 solar panels, now Tesla generates "almost 100%" of the necessary energy for the whole island.
The system has a 60 Tesla Powerpacks that can store up to 1.4 Mega Watts of energy, sufficient for three days consumption without any contact with the sun.
The project in Ta or it is a demonstration of the capability of the technology of generation of electricity through solar panels. It was sponsored by the authorities of American Samoa, and the u.s. Department of the Interior united States.
however, the CEO of Tesla Elon Musk said that the purchase of SolarCity is "incredibly obvious" to develop what it calls its "Master Plan" to generate clean energy, store it and distribute it.
