China proclaims victorious their longest crewed space mission – Prensa Latina

November 18, 2016, 07:43Beijing, nov 18 (PL) China today proclaimed successful its longest crewed space mission when the ship Shenzhu-11, with two astronauts safely aboard, returned to Earth.

In accordance with the Control Center of Aerospace of Beijing, the module landed safely at 14H07 local (06H07 GMT) on the steppes of the autonomous region and northern Inner Mongolia after a mission of 33 days, a new stage in the ambitious space program chinese.

The commander-in-chief of the space program, manned in the country, Zhang Youxia declared the mission was a resounding success.

For his part, the deputy prime minister and member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (Cpc), Zhang Gaoli, issued a note of congratulations from the Central Committee of the Cpc, the State Council and the Central Military Commission in the command center of the space program, manned space China in this capital.

The Shenzhen-11 is the sixth manned spacecraft China and this is the mission’s longest country so far.

The mission transported personnel and materials between the Earth and the Tiangong-2 and proved the processes for approach, docking, and return.

Several medical experiments aerospace, essays in space science and maintenance in orbit were made during that journey sidereal.

The two astronauts also performed three tests designed by high school students of the special administrative region of Hong Kong, such as raising silk worms in space.

This is the third space mission for the veteran astronaut 50 years old Jing Haipeng, the commander of the crew, who also participated in the missions of the Shenzhou-7 and Shenzhou-9.

While Chen Dong, aged 38, performed his first space mission.

This role is a key step in the asian giant that seeks to build a space station manned permanently, and that according to plans expected to launch in 2018, although it begins to operate fully around the 2022, with a life designed initial at least 10 years.
