If you play this video, your iPhone will be rendered useless – Gizmodo in Spanish

a little over a year, a bug in the Messaging app allowed you to force a reboot of any iPhone by sending a simple SMS. It now circulates on the networks a video of five seconds that has a similar effect in iOS, and that seems to affect equally to all the iPhones and iPads on the market.

What is disturbing of this new exploit is that it does not arrive to cause the restart of the system, but that slows down the device until it unusable. The victim, if you know how, you can only force a reset of the terminal with a long press of its physical buttons to return to normal.

The video is a mp4 media mega, which is hosted on VK. You could share a link through any social network or messaging application. The youtuber EverythingApplePro makes a demonstration of its effects in the latest versions of iOS, from iOS 7 to iOS 10:

it is Not yet known what is causing the problem, but it could be a corrupt file that triggers a memory leak in Safari. It is also not clear if there is a virus that takes advantage of this exploit, so that the doubts do not put any link to the happy video. Now it is the turn of Apple: tap to launch a patch to fix the bug. [The Next Web]
