Apple buys British artificial intelligence firm VocalIQ – Yahoo Finance Spain

San Francisco (USA), October 2 (EFE) .- The technology company Apple announced today that it has acquired the British firm VocalIQ artificial intelligence, working on the development of new systems to facilitate communication between people and computing devices.

The British company is specialized in developing technology for speech recognition and helps machines to understand better the how people speak, which could allow Apple to improve the performance of your digital assistant Siri.

“Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time and generally do not indicate what our purpose or our plans “said Apple, based in Cupertino (California), in a statement.

VocalIQ says on its website that its software helps computer devices to express themselves more naturally, to learn from each interaction with a human being by using artificial intelligence technique known as “deep learning”.

The software developed by the British firm also tries to help computers better understand verbal commands and the context in which they occur
