The technology company Apple announced today that it has acquired the British firm VocalIQ artificial intelligence, working in the development of new systems to facilitate communication between people and computing devices.
The British company is specialized in developing technology for the voice recognition and helps machines better understand how people speak, which could allow Apple to improve the performance of your digital assistant Siri.
“Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time and generally do not indicate what our purpose or our plans,” said Apple, based in Cupertino (California), in a statement.
VocalIQ says on its website that its software helps computer devices to express themselves more naturally, learning from every interaction with a human being through the use of a artificial intelligence technique called “deep learning” .
The software developed by the British firm also tries to help computers to better understand verbal commands , and the context in which they occur.
